It is winter. The sun is setting just north of Woolsey Peak, as observed from just below the summit of Piestewa, and the post sunset glow is behind the Estrella and the other low hills SE of the Eagletails. After the brutality of the cold wind on Humphrey on Wednesday, this is far from a harsh winter hike. Still, the days are short, the sun low, and it is cool in the preserves. Phoenix in winter.

Fortunately, the air quality is great with minimal winter pollution after the last cold front, so the view was clear and the breathing easy. Really, a down right pleasant hike on this. Unlike Humphrey, no cold headache and no windburn on exposed skin.

After arriving on top I photo-bombed a woman's photos of her friend going to the summit, so she sent them to me. I slouch.
