| no partners | | Got an early start at 6:30am before sunrise. Hiked for about a half hour in the dark before I turned the headlamp off, then forgot I had it on my head until I was on Sunrise Peak. The sunrise turned out to be very nice with the clouds on the horizon. The bright red was visible on Fountain Lake below.
Hardly saw any hikers until I got to the peak, then suddenly they were everywhere. Once I was headed back on the Sunrise Trail, it wasn't as crowded, but certainly saw more than at the start. On the way back I hiked the Sunrise Trail over to the 136th Spur Trail and back to add a little more mileage. Got some bird's eye views of the new subdivisions they're building in Adero Canyon, some of which I've been inspecting at work.
Cooler temps at the start, warmed up as the morning wore on. It was a bit breezy in spots, but not terribly windy. Finished by 10:30am and decided that was enough for the day. Nice to finish up a little earlier. |
