| no partners | | I decided to do a hike close to home today and this one fit the bill.
We hiked up to Sunrise Peak from the Adero Canyon TH, and on the way back we took the Western Loop Trail up to Peak 3098, aka Westview Overlook. After descending down the northside of 3098, to get some extra miles we did the Lower Sonoran-Sonoran Trail Loop.
It was a nice day to be out -- there was a bit of cloud cover that filtered the sun a bit, and the temperatures were nice. There were a few people out on the trail, but not as many as in other parts of the McDowells.
We saw a gopher snake on the Sonoran Trail, but that was it for wildlife. |

Wildflowers Observation Isolated It was nice to see some leaves and flowers on some ocotillo, and the brittlebush are finally getting some leaves. This makes me hopeful that the upcoming wildflower season won't be a total bust. |
