Love the scenery going up Barnhardt. It's a great trail with some nice EC. Even without the runoff, there's a reason it's the most popular trail in the area.
Divide has tremendous views and a smooth tread with minimal EC which allows for some jogging.
Y Bar gets a bad rap for its rock-filled trail but it makes for a nice loop and goes through sections that avoided the fire. Yes, it's not for the casual hiker (perhaps one accustom to the pristine, "sidewalk trails" in Scottsdale where they can walk their dog and surf social media on their phone without having to be bothered with looking at the trail or their surroundings), but if you put away the phone for the day (I promise you won't miss anything or be missed) and break out the hiking poles that Aunt Betty gave you for Christmas 10-years ago that you forgot to regift I promise they will help you enjoy this trail. Just having a little fun, it's all good . That said, an out-and-back on Barnhardt is hard to beat!
Another great day in the Mazzies! |
