Cloudy, slightly breezy day, but perfect for a circumnavigation of Lake Siskiyou. This was the first time I’ve done the complete loop. I started at the Cable Beach parking lot and travelled clockwise. The Forest Service just put in the seasonal bridges over the Sacramento River at its input to the lake this past week. The lake is full, and a number of parties were out on the lake taking advantage of the beautiful day.
The trail itself is in great shape, and doesn’t vary much in altitude above the lake. The only issue I had was following the routing through the Lake Siskiyou Resort, as it is not well marked as it passes behind the general store and restaurant area.
