| no partners | | I spent the night in St. George, UT after completing some amazing Arizona Strip hikes. On the way back to PHX the next day we decided to swing by Bryce Canyon NP, Zion NP, and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
I had never been to any of these parks before, and I enjoyed seeing them, even though this was a bit of a whirlwind tour.
We stopped at Sunrise Point in Bryce, and the rock formations there were amazing. We got there early and there weren't many people there.
Then it was on to Zion, where we went in the west side of the park. The rock formations were cool!
After leaving Zion we went toward the movie set in Escalante, and the neopolitan rocks there were neat to look at.
I didn't really do any hiking; instead we stopped at some overlooks and pullouts like the rest of the tourists. Even though it was a Sunday, the parks weren't all THAT crowded -- they sure seemed less crowded than the Grand Canyon and Sedona.
I'd like to go back to these areas and do some hiking in less busy times of the year. |
