I wanted to do another high elevation hike before hiking a 14er next week, so what better choice in AZ is there than Humphreys?

It was a nice day for the hike -- it was a little windy while on the west side of the ridgeline going up to Humphreys, but it wasn't too bad.

I started early and didn't see many other people until I started going back down.

Once I got below Agassiz Saddle I met a lot of people who I suspect would not make it to the summit.

The Slate Fire was quite visible at the summit to the NW. The fire is moving to the NE, and I did not even smell any smoke from the fire.
