I did another early morning exercise hike in the McDowells, going the back way up to Bell Pass

I only saw one other hiker.

On the way back I came upon an angry rattlesnake in some grass just off the Prospector Trail. I don't think that I have ever heard a snake rattle as much as this one did. I waited for the snake to slither away, but all he wanted to do was rattle at me. I eventually went around the snake on the other side of the trail and continued on my way.
