| partners | | Got started to reasonably cool temps, although I wished we’d started an hour earlier. Headed uphill with plenty of shade. Took our time through the steeper lower section. Lots of flowers and trees. The trail is in pretty good shape, especially the upper two-thirds. A few breaks here and there, but the kids never complained about the climb.
No views at the summit of Mt Coeur d’Alene, but we had a snack where I think the tower used to be before heading back down. A tad warm in places on the descent, but overall pretty nice. Two two trail runners and three bikers—that was it for the day. I didn’t have high expectations for this hike, but it definitely exceeded them. I’d do this one again without hesitation. |
