Got started just before 0630, still raining but the worst of the lightning had passed to the south. Pima Wash flashed right as we were starting, so that was neat to see. Headed up the road, then National, to Hidden Valley. Down the wash, which was still lightly flowing. Some careful negotiation of the rocks in places, but nobody fell. The water saturated sand was pretty much quicksand most of the way, reaching almost calf deep a few times. Lots of frogs/toads, geckos, quail, and one kingsnake.
