Started hike late in the day. Camped overnight on the east slope of Diamond Mtn about 4200 ft. Temp overnight was around 70 degrees. Near perfect, a little damp but really didnt notice it too much around that temperature and much better than camping in the low 80s in the valley. Trail was soggy in places but not much water running in the drainages as you would think. The mtn absorbs quite a bit apparently. Water at Oneil Spring as always and trickle of water in drainage just before the spring. Saw deer tracks. Few to no mosquitos.
