| no partners | | Coming back from Prescott, I just had to do this one again. It's now a fall tradition and one of my most favorite hikes
Started at noon on a warm and perfect fall day. With maples glowing on the mountainside below the trailhead, I knew it was going to be another good hike. Hiking down the View Point Trail, I passed another guy near the north end. On the north side of Mingus, the maples were changing nicely. The aspen grove is dead, but new aspens are popping up from the roots.
Once on top, I found a USGS marker, then promptly bashed my head in on a low branch But the rest of the hike went well. Made my usual stop in Jerome, then drove to the nursery in Clarkdale to load up on cacti. A great end to a great fall vacation |
