| no partners | | After a daylong botanical expedition in Tucson, I flew up the Catalina Highway, with the hope of hiking to the summit of Mount Bigelow. For some reason, I have always been quite interested in this peak. I loaded my pack on the drive up, and hit the trail at 5 pm sharp. I was immediately amazed at how nicely signed and groomed the trail was...if only my local ranger district would do that here in Safford! Made the snow dusted top at sunset, took a few shots in the howling, icy wind, contemplated wearing a wool hat, then headed down. Arrived back at dark, then headed down from the most spectacular of sky islands. Although a brief hike, I have fond memmories of it. |
