I treated this trip as an alpine overnight, parking and heading out a little after noon. Hardly anyone out on Barnhardt Trail on this Friday. The scramble through manzanita was stressful but doable! Peak and views were gorgeous. The southern descent was challenging in a different way- make sure to find the best option around cliffs and rocky outcroppings, oh and plenty more manzanita jungle. One down climb helped shortcut the journey. Made a pleasant camp on the saddle at dusk. Beautiful morning hiking out. First time up this peak and it did not disappoint! Will have to try Suicide Ridge next time.
