Fantastic loop hike- the four of us headed counter-clockwise up Abineau, over and then Bear Jaw. The Abineau canyon is impressive and a good challenge. Tons of downed trees. Excellent weather on this day. As others have said, this whole area feels like Colorado and reminds me of my time living there. Aspen groves have a magical quality that is hard to describe.

We camped at Lockett and almost debated lasso-looping this from the Inner Basin Trail to the Abineau Canyon road. Glad we didn't do that though when we later discovered that segment is almost 5 miles one way.
