| partners | | linda invited me to do this one and todd decided to join in
met up early off the 202 and headed up the beeline
road to the trailhead was dry with a few ruts
first hiked the same route five years ago with ----
up y bar to the saddle - think mike and i cut up a bit sooner
seemed like more brush this time; not sure i remember correctly
a few scrambles but not bad off trail
i like the last bit to the summit - more moderate grade, nice flat bedrock
enjoyed the views, checked out the summit register, took photos and had a snack
headed down the drainage
substantial flow made for even slower going for me but it was fun to downclimb around the water
good fall color along the drainage
nice to hit barnhardt after all that and the last five miles seemed to go quickly
fun to be up there again, and nice to hike it with linda and todd
views from picketpost to the valley to humphreys were excellent
weather was perfect
next time i would like to take another route down, maybe suicide ridge
saw two people on barnhardt and that was it
good times!
