| no partners | | Still kinda chilly, but because I went in the afternoon it was tolerable. Still quite cold around noon, and so I didn't feel like a longer hike in the Tortolitas. It is nice to have this. However, it is now after the New Year, and so the trailhead was on overflow parking. Most seemed to be climbing at the sport area or on the Pack Rat loops.
Realizing that it was a Sunday after the New Year, I bet it was also very busy in the Tortolitas, too. I'll be happier when the crowds go back to normal in a couple weeks, and when either the days are longer, and also it warms earlier. All three, really.
For some reason I felt like bringing my camera, so I did.
I was confused last week and thought I had hiked this 40 times. Turns out that today was my 40th summit. I guess you could say I have a Hazolution (remember those?) to hike this more than any other Tucson Basin hike. Given that Pusch Peak is the only hike I have done more at 45 times, I think that should be easy. Mt Kimball is presently equal in summits to Pusch, but there are multiple routes/ hikes so I only have 40 Finger Rock trail summits. |
