| no partners | | The snow is melting with the warmer temperatures so I was able to hike Mount Ian despite the remaining stretches of ice covering the trail. Bring traction if you prefer, or wait a few more weeks. I came from Florida Canyon, so have no idea of the Baldy conditions.
Probably a one and done for me, as this is a little longer than I care to do routinely and I found Ian to be less of a summit than Wrightson or 8853, and a lot longer than Florida Peak, all of which I might do again this year. Well, Wrightson I definitely will. Best thing about Ian is the view of Wrightson, actually.
Ian isn't a very popular summit on HAZ, but it seems to be for the local hiking clubs. Still, it looked to get only a few groups a year. |
