I followed the hard surface road to the trail head and hiked above and beside the last of the asphalt that leads to the final tram stop. I'm not sure the trams are running here anymore. The trail follows the stream bed and is pretty straight forward. I only crossed the stream four times before reaching the ascent grade. There are several places along the stream where the trail disappears. A considerate hiker(s) have left stacked stone markers that are very useful negotiating the last stream crossing, If you ignore them there is some light scrambling to do.
The falls had water and were quite stunning. I continued up the # 29 trail after the Falls turn off and went about and another half a mile and another hundred feet up. By the time I turned around a quite a few hikers were coming up the trail. I found this to be interesting and fun hike. |
