I chose this trail because I believe that this is the trail that I'll most likely see a mountain lion. I haven't seen one since 2011. I did see mountain lion tracks. I just have to time my trip better. I'm guessing the distance because I wasn't able to make it up to the saddle due to the snow. The snow was too deep, and it slowed me down too much. I hiked 2 and a half hours up and 2 hours down. If I saw more lion tracks, I would have continued. This is one of my favorite trails, and I don't hike it nearly enough.
