| no partners | | Exploring a new area and getting a new summit, even if most don't go to the top of Peak 8853. I did. It was actually a nice summit, and not windy today. Florida Canyon trail is not in it's peak season, but was still enjoyable. The upper parts with pine reproduction were my favorite. The crest was also pretty nice, and because I had made the saddle to the south of 8853 faster than expected, and because it didn't look too far, I went to the top. Glad I did.
This area feels almost like an entirely new range for me, since I have never been over here. I always stuck to Wrightson. Now, I might supplement Wrightson for Humphrey as long as I am down here since 4&1/2 hours is kinda far to go for Humphrey, but I would like to think I will also hike this and the Crest Trail again, even if only to this peak or the the next one south, PK 9146. |
