| partners | | 9L wanted to do Wrightson and I LOVE Wrightson. 9L, of course, wanted to try it the hard way. I, of course, don't want to be the one who backs down. And then Lily-- poor girl has no say in the matter.
We started hiking at about 9am. I felt like garbage and you get no warm up with this route. You just start going up. I knew Lily would be fine as long as the temperature stayed nice. She'll hike all day until it warms up-- then she's a total slug. I finally hit my stride by the time we got to Florida Saddle. I had apparently knocked all my kinks out and felt pretty good the rest of the day. Lily slowed down a little just near the end but all in all she knocked this one out of the ballpark. That's a big day for a mutt and she stayed strong for the whole thing.
This is a great hike. Its a challenge with that killer Wrightson pay-off. |
