| no partners | | Been busy with not fun stuff so needed to get out. I felt I would be late for flowers but didn't think this spring would be all that. It isn't but I was pleasantly surprised when I went to my favorite spot.
The road grader had built up a huge berm to block the little rough road. Challenge accepted. The Jeep has well over 20 inches of clearance of most of the body; and it helps when you go over at an angle. I went down the steep loose hill and parked at the usual spot just out of the wash.
There were a lot of flowers really, they were small and spread out. The poppies looked like they were almost done. Other flowers were about too. I had a chance to visit some more of the washes and ridgelines than I usually do because normally I am agog with all the flowers. Not a good year but at least something and I enjoyed it. My knee did not like deep squatting; kneeling carefully ok.
I drove on down the road and looks like an access point may be going away but that is ok. Know how to get in if I want. Nice to get out for sure. |
