| no partners | | One of those hikes. I used Cowboy Miller Road to the Rug Road. Just got the Toyota out of the shop; too pretty needed some pinstripes. The last little bit of Cowboy Miller needed Lo, with the locker and I used the Atrac too just to see what it would do. Parked off the Rug Road, which has some small rock crawling sections thru here that I just did not want to do in the Toy.
I walked the road and went off the saddle to the ridgeline. Parts of that route had some rough bushwaking especially if you chose poorly and went on one side or the other when it became a rocky knife edge.
Table mtn had some last gasp wide flower fields on it which was nice. I found the highpoint and disc and the register entry showed me the first and only for 2022. Looks like SAHC makes it up here every couple of years. Two entries from 2020. Our Haz Flying Fiver in one of the 2019 entries. Views were great but hazy probably due to the various fires in the region.
Anyhow, on the way back I wanted to check out a butte off the ridgeline. Never know what you might find on the top. I still don't know. On working my way up had a hard fall, hurting my knee and dislocating shoulder. Thrashed around and it relocated. After the crying and the vomiting, wriggled the pack off and took some drugs; got out a belt I carry with me and strapped the upper arm to my side. The hike back to the Toyota took some interesting twists as I was in some rough terrain and I intersected the rug road off the saddle to take it back. Hoped for some friendly ATVers but of course no luck. Got to the FJ with the sun low in the sky, called mom so the national guard wouldn't be called out. Slammed down a 1000mg of Vit I, gut be damned. Felt great to get in the vehicle and drive. Ranged the arm some and it doesn't like overhead much but I think nothing is torn, will just have to work with it. Luckily I can hit up my former work place for some treatment if I need it.
Think this one will be a one and done. Might have to do some elder age appropriate hikes for a few weeks. How disgusting! |
