| no partners | | Driving one of my favorite roads. A little rough but great views and a surprise spring in a rare run of limestone for this area. I walked up the road partways as wanted some exercise rather than slow mo 4 wheeling. I then left and went on the route for a peak attempt in the area. I didn't want to do it today, too warm and a little late.
My partial route worked very well so it's a go, even as I couldn't see the goal. I'll be back. Saw a nice mello rattlesnake on the way down. Soaked my hot feet in the cold spring water, coming up from the bowels of the earth. The peak may wait if the heat is on but if it goes down again I will see if I can get it before fall.
Neat geology too, nice chalcedony and some gypsum almost selenite like crystals in the mudstone. |
