We cleared and defined the trail around Peterson Ranch and removed some of the big, fallen trees blocking the trail where the it turns north away from the ranch.
We noticed clouds to the north, south, east and west, just not where we were. A couple of times clouds passed overhead and it was delightful, but it was mostly sunny and warm (not too hot). We took work breaks in the shade where we could find it among the trees.
We started clearing through a thicket of New Mexican Locust trees up to where the raspberry bush thickets start before running out of time.
Back at the trailhead, the trail sign was leaning loose against a tree next to the trail. Based on the direction the sign's arrow points, it seems that the sign belongs on the other side of the road at the parking area, pointing across the road to the trailhead. But the sign is so weathered, the arrow barely shows. So we used some found wire to secure it to the tree where it leaned. For now.
We'll be back!
