We had a great day on the Parker Creek Trail #160 on Wednesday. We cleared the trail through quite a few large fallen trees well up into the switchbacks. Along the way, we saw evidence of fresh work that had been done since Jim's last trip up there. We then had a big surprise when a group came strolling down from above with tools and Forest Service Volunteer caps. These were our mysterious friends that we've been leapfrogging trail maintenance trips with over the course of the past few months. We discussed coordinating trips, but the leapfrog approach has been working out pretty well regardless. We're making great progress, and I think we'll be up to the talus slope before long. In the meantime, Parker Creek is flowing well, Roosevelt Lake is full, and the wildflowers are out. It's well worth a day hike now.
