7-15-2022 After a late breakfast we decided to hike clockwise returning on the trail behind the road.  There were a lot more flowers out and the geese were walking in the cherry orchard above the road, the same area a bear and her cubs were walking a month later.  On this hike we walked close to the Lake where we had some pretty nice views.  We walked by the yurts which are part of Big Arm State Park.  We visited with a resident that is building a rather large house above his.  I can't remember what business he was in but he said it is still going quite well.

We would finish our afternoon packing up a kayak and heading over to Lake Mary Ronan. I did kayak but no pictures of me doing that. Deborah did the stand up board as she hadn't tried that yet. She prefers the kayak and after a cocktail (for me a Huckleberry Mule with Huckleberry Whiskey), she took the kayak out on the water for a short spin.

7-13-2022 1300 miles after leaving my home in Phoenix on the morning of the 11th, I arrived at my friend's house at Big Arm on Flathead Lake in the late afternoon.  Deborah, as usual, made a very nice supper which we enjoyed out on the balcony.  Afterward we went on the hike of Meadowlark Lane.  We hiked counterclockwise.  It was a nice evening and though I recorded it on RS, due to the purchase of a new phone about ten days later, the RS app did not transfer thus neither did my routes.  I did record the hike/walk on my watch.

We saw a deer.  The cherries were just starting to ripen on the trees. The orchards are all looking quite good from what I could tell.  We came home and walked down to the lake to witness a most fabulous sunset at 9:45PM.

News: My friend, Deborah, had to evacuate for one nite. Big Arm will reopen at 10 a.m., July 31, 2022. All normal services will be available at the park. Lake Mary Ronan State Park reopened August 10, 2022.
The Elmo 2 Fire started July 29, 2022 in the Deep Draw area along Highway 28. Although local Volunteer Fire Departments and Missoula Smokejumpers responded quickly, the fire grew significantly in the first few hours, prompting the initial evacuation of residences. The Northern Rockies Team 7 Type 2 Incident Management Team took over management of the Elmo Fire at 6 AM on Sunday, July 31, 2022.

The two videos include: Meadowlark Lane hikes with Deborah, Lake Mary Ronan hike, Seli'š Ksanka Qlispe' Dam (formerly Kerr Dam) hike, Lake Mary Ronan kayak (I did but no pics except I took some of Deborah).

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.
