| partners | | Greg had suggested this hike last week but I couldn't make it so we put it together for today.
It was a chilly start and I actually wore my vest the whole hike. It was really quite pleasant the entire way. No water in the gulch with only dabs of flora. Greg, of course, knew where the glyphs were so called me back to see them; a very nice panel.
The trail is in really wonderful shape and by going clockwise, the hike up is very nice and gradual. I think the views are better this way as well. There were several lizards but they were fast so I wasn't able to get any good pictures. However, we did get to relish several shots of a Swallowtail as it just sat in a bush. There are eight gates; a couple had the same open/close mechanism I had not seen before but I really thot they were pretty cool mechanisms. We saw about ten people along the way, all going the opposite direction.
WATCH: 4.41 miles (low point 5313, high 5781) 116 bpm/143 max (7% Zone 3, 59% Zone 2, 33% Zone 1) burning 676 calories. Temp 59, clear and 13% humidity finishing at 11:02AM |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
