Beautiful day for Walkin' Jim trail for Friends Hiking Club. At the start we followed Cottonwood Creek to the petroglyphs, then popped up to the trail. The return was more sketchy, and we varied some from the HAZ track, but our route was about as easy as the trail in the right direction to cut Little Jim Trail. For the last 1.5 miles, instead of climbing the faint trail up and south around the last hill, we dropped back into Cottonwood Creek, which was easier and saved about .5 miles. Total 8.1 miles.
