As with other visits this winter, nowhere safe to park. Finally found a spot at the end of a residential street that seemed ok. As we were getting set up Game and Fish law enforcement pulled up in a truck. Not to worry, they had nowhere safe to park either. They unloaded a couple snowmobiles from their trailer and broke a nice path for us as they headed out to check on some endangered frogs in the snowpack.
Tons of snow was reasonably consolidated and the snowmobile track was great to follow. This isn't a particularly scenic area though so we turned around after a couple hours, had lunch back at the truck and headed to find something more interesting.
After regrouping, we headed out again, this time entertained by a pretty stream and some cascades. Another great day in rim country! |
