| partners | | Trip out on the Ridgeline from the park. Really great conditions and a very nice day. Air quality was excellent, even in the Valley. Lots of flowers and the ones on the ridge itself smelled really nice.
We made it as far as the pinyon I mentioned in my last log from early 2020. It is now dead post fire. The junction with the Hieroglyphics Canyon trail was too far for us. This hike is somehow a lot harder than the stats suggest, unless they are inaccurate and lower than it really was. I used Roy's 2018 route for them. I attribute the difficulty to the nature of the steep ascent to the iron. I remember that as being more fun in the past. Perhaps I was still tired from Kimball Wednesday and Sombrero Trails on Friday? One thing is for sure, we're going to have to train for CSP2ML in a month. |
