We arrived in the late afternoon and started from the Seven Springs TH, near the campground. Hiked in about 2.5 miles and enjoyed pleasant temperatures and a fine sunset along the way. Arrived at our camp just past dusk and camped about a 1/4 mile beyond the first creek crossing--a beautiful spot on a ledge overlooking the creek with a nice fire ring and makeshift chairs of logs.
The evening featured a full moon and fun times around the campfire.
The next morning, we left our backpacks and ventured another 1.5 miles downstream to the swimming hole, where we hung hammocks and cliff jumped into the pool, which at its deepest, was about 11 feet.
Some caught crawdads, which we brought back to camp and boiled up. Not much meat, but didn't taste too bad.
After lunch at camp, we packed up and hiked out, arriving at the TH in mid-afternoon. The weather was perfect. |
