Our initial plan was to hike one of two loops off of Cave Creek #4. Due to the tremendous amount of foxtail etc., we ended up just doing an in and out. The use trails down to the creek and ruins looked like murder.
The Good:
Nice scenery & weather, rattlesnake and gila monster sightings
The Bad:
Missed out on the ruins, petroglyphs, and ranch
The Ugly:
Foxtail and gnats.
After the hike we had a great visit with @losdosslofolks, followed by breakfast at the brass rail.
