We were looking for a hike in the Tucson area, and with the recent rains, figured this would be a good choice. We were right!

I haven’t done much hiking in the Catalinas, but this hike reaffirmed my commitment to do more exploring down here.

In addition to the cool pools, the mountains themselves have a lot of character.

The trail is understandably a popular one, it it wasn’t too crowded, and the parking area is large enough to accommodate many.

There was a reptile show set up at the trailhead with some impressive specimens of rattlesnakes, Gila monsters and other desert dwellers.

We hiked in Tevas, which was a great choice for this hike, and made exploring the pools easy.

After the hike, we drove over to Saguaro National Park for a quick visit.
