| no partners | | Beautiful weather! Quick and easy for the last hike of the season with my Coworkers. This trail is good for an event where you don't know who is showing up. We had two folks with babies and very young kids and also one person with limited mobility, and all did well on this trail. Not too crowded on the backside, but as soon as we reached the trail portion shared with the summit trail, there were all the people as expected.
We started not too early at 8a-ish,and I was impressed that there were a number of parking spaces still open. We carpooled in order to avoid having issues for multiple cars parking.
This guide needs to be updated as the Hopi Trailhead no longer exists. And yet I said to meet there (Oops!). We parked at the very last Trailhead which is Ocotillo TH. I guess I should have checked the park website, but we all managed to find each other.
Another thing worth mentioning is the freedom loop has a sign that says no dogs just before the junction with the summit trail, even on the backside. We didn't realize this, and some of our party went down a different trail to be compliant.
Lots of wildflowers still and many beautiful blooming cacti!
A fantastic morning on the trail despite some crowds. |
