| no partners | | This was a hike to the summit of Grandfather Mountain in western North Carolina.
The hike was within the Grandfather Mountain state park. I came in from the west side on the Profile Trail.
It was humid, but the hike was under a thick canopy of trees so there was no sunlight getting through.
This was not an easy hike, but it was quite enjoyable. At the top, there were 3 wooden ladders that were there to facilitate doing some rock scrambling. There was no real exposure, but you had to be a little careful on the ladders.
With all the trees, views were limited for the most part, but there were a few scenic vistas that were nice.
I recommend this one if you are ever in the area. |
