Once we had dragged Bruce through some uninspired, hot, cloudfree, and overall boring pondo forest, we sent him home and decided to switch it up with a beautiful creekside wander through lush grasses, cool breezes, and poofy clouds.

I first visited this place in the late 90s — pre-chediski. It was special then, and while there were some dark years in there, 22 years later improvements are progressing, though it will take decades more for some of the shaded benches in the canyon to recover fully.

Plenty of fish were enjoying the habitat, including a monster 18+" brownie. Good to see!
