It was a mostly calm morning, but around 11:00 AM, the clouds started to build. There were a few people with their dogs kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and enjoying the weather.
As we made our way back towards the launch around 11:00 AM, the clouds continued to build. We decided to cut the kayak trip to the east short out of caution for the weather.
After packing up the kayaks and having some lunch on the newly built deck behind the general store, we got ready to hike. There were some rumblings that seemed to have passed to the west. As soon as I pressed the button on RS to begin the hike, it began to rain lightly. We decided to wait a bit under the cover of the ponderosas to see if it would pass.
The rain got heavier and included some electrical activity in our vicinity. After 20 minutes, we decided to retreat to the car and head home. |
