Crucifix Canyon was nice early with lots of shade and some moderate obstacles along the way. The bat cave was worth a look. The climb up a little slick and the guano (I was told) knee deep if you ventured out directly under the ladder. After, we scrambled down to get a view of the water and took a route up out of the canyon to connect to the trail above. I won't speculate on the thin hiker in the canyon (lack of appendages?) but it doesn't seem possible so get through without them. On the hike down the trail we saw five others with prospecting tools in tow on their way out. The ground seems pretty hard in that area so I doubt much earth was moved if any. A fun day in a canyon, That's for the invite Bruce. |
