| no partners | | A nice loop with nice views of the mountain and praying hands including a detour up into Weekes Wash to view the (dry) falls. Did not realize that there is a unique feature not too far away (Paradox Arch) so it looks like I may well have to hit this loop again to check it out.
The parking area is small and may be difficult to get a spot on weekends if you arrive late. When I did this hike, it looked like we managed to nab one of the last available spots. The walking starts off on a wide track, which eventually narrows up as it heads up towards the mountain. The trail is a steady uphill grade, but offers some lovely views. After passing slot rock and heading up towards some prominent rock features, I caught a spur trail that pops into Weekes Wash and followed that upcanyon to the dryfall area. After enjoying the shade of the narrower part of the watercourse, I backtracked to pick up the trail again and head towards praying hands, and then back down to the car park.
Note that many seem to do the loop counter-clockwise - I went in the opposite direction, and didn't have any trouble navigating. Passed lots of folk on the way back to the car, but enjoyed Weekes wash without any other visitors. |

Happier when hiking....I may not move fast (and I'm often distracted by wildflowers), but I'll get there eventually |
