| no partners | | Early morning hike in the Phoenix Preserve. Started from Dreamy Draw around 5:30. I didn’t have much of a plan except I wanted to include Valley View. I ended up going CCW. First on the Perle Charles then to the Valley View. There are quite a few use trails back in the area and it’s easy to miss this trail unless you’re deliberately trying to do it. From here I made my way up to the Freedom Trail and then took the Irregular Link down to the Dreamy Draw Outer Loop. Followed some use trails in the northern part of the Dreamy Draw area and then made my way back to the TH.
Nice loop. In the shade until I hit the DD Outer Loop. No wildlife, but plenty of action. 16 hikers, 9 bikers and 1 trail runner. As I was exiting the park I passed the biggest hiking group I’ve ever seen. Must have about 30 gathered on the corner. I’d hate to be on their trail |
