Short hike, close to home. Got a late start. Didn’t get to the TH until 7am. I was lucky to find a parking spot. As I was hiking up the Hau’Pal I decided I would follow the loop. Not sure why, but typically I just do an up and down, but he ridgeline is a fun semi scramble. It’s gotten a lot more established over the years, so it’s not the scramble it use to be. The ridge only adds about .5 miles to the hike, but it slows me down considerably because of the roughness.

Weather was very nice at the time of the day. Trails were busy. Encountered 24 hikers. Talked with one hiker who was a south side South Mountain hiker who was checking out the north side. Sounded like he had been covering quite a bit of ground over the last couple of days. No wildlife, except for some quail.
