After 2 laps on the red dot I set out to explore this area. It is much closer to the dot than Mohican, and a shorter drive to get there, and also some place that might be nicer in summer when hot and humid.

This was a pretty nice area. The forest is the typical green jungle, the trail is wide, and the conditions about the same as the red dot in terms of trail maintenance. Far fewer people, which is nice, but you can hear I-80 until a mile into the hike. Once past the sounds of I-80, it is a very quiet calm and peaceful dense forest.

I went out from the Farview Trailhead on the Farview trail, and continued on that trail, past the Appalachian Trail to the Dunnfield Creek Trail, on the Holly Springs Trail. It really makes for a single trail, but the forest split it into two trails. I also inspected a small area of the AT, which I might enjoy hiking in the future.

I was able to see a bear, sort of. I had already lost hope for that, but glanced over my shoulder to see a small black dot that I thought could be one. It moved, and I was correct. Photos were terrible, but I still saw it.
