| no partners | | I learned about this place last week when researching Baldpate Mountain in Maine. It looked decent enough, and it could be something worth visiting for exercise and also doesn't require a 5 hour round trip drive.
At least until the green time is done, I would stick with the Yellow Trail, as there was too much poison ivy on the white to be fun. Possible chiggers, too. Not sure about ticks. Yellow was better maintained, in part because I think fewer rocks made it easier. This is aside from the poison ivy tree that fell on the trail during a lap and I ran in to. Great.
Very hot and humid. At least for NJ. Had a hard time with the heat with a bad headache the last trip out. Probably should have left at the end of the 6th mile. My times look pathetic. Almost identical stats to Wasson from Sweetwater and yet it took me incredibly long. No real summit, and it never got cooler, so that hurts. Plus, Wasson was a little hike in AZ, and this is a fairly big one. |
