| no partners | | First time up this year and since before Christmas. Weather hasn't been great and I kept getting sick.
It's been very cold and the Delaware River has frozen over on the shaded north side of the mountain. A lone man was out possibly fishing on the ice. I walked out a brief distance but it was sloppy on top and I didn't trust it.
Trail was icy in spots, but not terrible. Hopefully, it starts to warm up by my next hike here.
I kept my hiking tight to the red dot to get a bare minimum route in case I just want to count laps sans gps. Looks like something like 1140' for each lap is the red dot minimum AEG.
I didn't bring my camera as I didn't think I would take any photos. Unfortunately, I once again saw a bird I would like to have photographed. A very nice Pileated Woodpecker was active along the trail. Cell cameras are useless for wildlife pictures. I did take some frozen river pics. Why not? |
