| partners | | Hiked in Friday afternoon with Alex about 2.5 miles up Rock Creek Trail to a camp spot near the Rock Creek falls area. Very small camp site but just enough for us and two more that would arrive next morning. Did some brushing along the way and around the camp before setting up camp in the evening.
Next morning Roger and Samuel showed up pretty early considering they hiked in that morning. The four of us worked upslope brushing and clearing as we went. Cleared several tree trouble spots with Roger before continuing the brushing. Worked into the afternoon before heading back to camp and relaxing night.
Next day we worked up trail towards the high point mostly brushing with some light tread and rock work. There was a 200 foot section of thick brush that we cleared and was the last remaining major trouble spot between the trailhead and where it connects with the AZT. Finished the day by working up to the high point before hiking out. Great to finally get this trail cleared after several years of trail events! |
