Been a few years since last time on this loop. Joined 9L and Kyle for the loop starting near Seven Springs road and crossing Cave Creek to climb the hill towards Skunk Tank. It's old road so nice tread but uphill over to Skunk Tank. The tank was well...just a cow tank.

From there we headed down to Cave Creek and took a break. What we didn't know going into the hike was that there was an ultra trail running event traversing our route mostly along Cave Creek. Fortunately most of the trail runners had already passed and we saw just the tail end.

After the break we continued on Cave Creek back towards the trailhead. Considering how dry it's been there were some really nice deep pools along the creek. Definitely legit swimmers to enjoy on a warmer day. Eventually made it back to the vehicle...nice quick Saturday hike!
