| no partners | | I parked on Estrella and took the Alta trail West to East. Original plan was to turn around and take Alta back again. But that seemed like a lot of effort. Instead I opted for Bajada trail.
Very few people on the trail. I met a couple with a baby and a dog when I got to the top of the hill on Alta. Only other person I met was a young woman who passed me on Bajada.
There were places on Alta along the traverse between the hills at either end where the trail was nearly overgrown with plants. There were a couple of spots where the trail was barely wide enough to pass. But for the most part the trail was on good shape. In places on the north facing slopes it looked more like a jungle than a desert, especially on the way up the hill.
Lots of poppies near the start of the Alta trail, but not too many after that. Bajada trail had lots of patches of poppies. |
