| no partners | | Parked at the top of Terrebonne Avenue. Passed through an opening in the metal gate which halts unauthorized vehicle access. The gate is signed 'no hunting, no stopping,' etc. There were other signs further in which said no trespassing - figured it was for vehicles at that point. Even more signs in the middle of the ascent that said no public access, experimental forest or something like that. Well, I was already there so uhh...
Kept a good pace all the way up to Johnstone and was totally drenched in sweat by the time I arrived. It's a decent climb. Great views (albeit hazy at lower elevations), several deer, some benchmarks, and a memorial at the top. Some amazing views of Baldy up there. The snow from last week's storm is mostly gone already - it's been warm af.
Passed another vehicle on the way down, this time the driver informed me I was on private property so I won't be doing this one again (not that it's beckoning). Looks like there's a few parcels of land between Terrebonne Avenue and the national forest boundary higher up. Probably okay to approach from the west or east if you're looking to be a good, law abiding citizen. |
